Certificates and Graduation Event

Cure Found’s last event of the 2022-2023 school year featured a night of recognition for all active members and graduating members. Dr. Ryan Thomas, M.D, faculty advisor of Cure Found, endorsed certificates for active members for their hard work, participation, and volunteerism with Cure Found the past year. Graduation cords were also given out to graduating active members. Cure Found is so proud of everyone’s accomplishments this year and thanks you for your support!

Suture Clinic x Alpha Epsilon Delta

Cure Found’s second ever suture clinic featured Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-health fraternity at Michigan State University. AED and Cure Found members joined together for this event in order to learn more about suturing techniques with the guidance and expertise of Mr. Sloan, PA-C who practices in Lansing, Michigan.

Frog Dissection Event ft. Dr. Urquhart, Ph.D and Dr. Lawrence, Ph.D

MSU Lyman Briggs Biology Professors, Dr. Gerald Urquhart, Ph.D and Dr. Justin Lawrence, Ph.D led a frog dissection event with Cure Found. In this event, members were able to learn more about the anatomy of a frog while getting hands-on experience with dissection.

Bonnell Foundation - Children with Cystic Fibrosis ft. Laura Bonnell (Zoom)

The founder of the Bonnell Foundation, Laura Bonnell, joined Cure Found members in order to kick off the “DARES4CF” fundraiser and talk about her experience with CF through the lens of her children and the Bonnell Foundation. Bonnell joined us to give a presentation about why her two daughters who have CF inspired her to start her foundation that raises funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis patients.

January 18th, 2023

Bracelets and Cards Event ft. faculty advisor Dr. Ryan Thomas, M.D

Cure Found’s returning event for the Spring 2023 semester. In this social and volunteer event, students volunteered to create bracelets and cards for children with Cystic Fibrosis. The bracelets and cards were distributed to children at MSU’s Cystic Fibrosis Center. Dr. Ryan Thomas, M.D, Cure Found Faculty advisor and head pulmonologist at MSU CF Center, led this event in order to further educate members on pulmonary medicine. Refreshments and food were sponsored by Woody’s Oasis based in East Lansing, Michigan.
