Cure Found MSU

Atef Choudhury

Founder

“In November 2017, my nephew was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a condition I knew little about until then. Witnessing his treatment journey up close ignited my desire to become a physician and make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients facing various health challenges, whether it’s cancer, diabetes, or Cystic Fibrosis. During high school, I began advocating for CF through fundraising and collaborating with the CF Foundation. This passion led me to establish ‘Cure Found’ at Michigan State University, where I aim to raise awareness on a larger scale and provide my peers with valuable exposure to the field of medicine”.

Atef Choudhury co-founded Cure Found in January 2022. After watching his nephew’s everyday treatments and day-to-day life with Cystic Fibrosis, he found his passion for medicine and making a difference in the community. Choudhury reached out to the head pulmonologist at MSU’s CF Center with his idea to start Cure Found MSU, a club tailored towards CF awareness whilst offering top-tier medical opportunities to all members. As co-president of the organization since 2022, Choudhury has hosted over 30 large scale events, fundraising initiatives, and hands-on clinics. Alongside the two other co-founders, Choudhury has fundraised for Cure Found and The Bonnell Foundation: Living with Cystic Fibrosis, a local non-profit organization based in Royal Oak, Michigan.
